All guests, golfers, and event attendees are expected to:
- Conduct themselves respectfully and courteously in all activities, observing applicable rules and standards of etiquette and fair play.
- Respect the rights of others and refrain from harassing, threatening, abusing, or retaliating against any player, member, guest, or staff member, verbally, physically, or otherwise.
- Not engage in any form of sexual, racial, or religious harassment or discrimination.
- Be responsible for ensuring their own behavior—and that of their family members and guests—complies with this Code of Conduct and all applicable club, event, USGA, and local rules, regulations, and dress codes.
- Respect Metropolitan Golf Links and Fairview Metropolitan property, including the golf course, carts, clubhouse, banquet spaces, and facilities.
- Take pride in the physical appearance of Metropolitan Golf Links.
- Dispose of trash appropriately.
- Repair your divots and ball marks properly and promptly.
- Rake the bunker after your shot.
- Allow faster players to play through.
- Adhere to all club rules (non-all-inclusive list below).
- Follow sign-in procedures in the Golf Shop and/or at the first tee.
- Follow all cart rental policies and operate carts safely in designated areas only.
- Obey all signage on the golf course.
- Follow all pace of play guidelines. Enjoy your round while maintaining an appropriate pace and consideration for others.
- Not behave in any rude or inappropriate manner, including the use of profane language, gestures, insults, or other such misbehavior.
- Not possess weapons or controlled substances, as defined under federal and state law, on Metropolitan Golf Links property.
- Refrain from bringing outside alcohol: State Liquor Authority regulations prohibit the consumption of alcoholic beverages not purchased from the Clubhouse or on the course. This is not a local rule. Bringing outside alcohol violates California State law and may result in fines or loss of the golf course’s liquor license. All permit holders and guests must comply.
- Not damage or undermine the character, integrity, goodwill, property, or public reputation of Metropolitan Golf Links or its staff.
Staff will enforce these rules as observed and reported. The most effective compliance, however, comes from mutual respect among guests. When each guest assumes personal responsibility for their conduct and consideration for others while on Metropolitan Golf Links property, the overall experience for all guests will be enhanced.
