CourseCo is extremely proud to announce that Gary Ingram, Senior Agronomy Manager at Metropolitan Golf Links, has been selected by the GCSAA Board of Directors as the recipient of the 2019 President’s Award for Environmental Stewardship. GCSAA’s President’s Award for Environmental Stewardship was established in 1991 to recognize “an exceptional environmental contribution to the game of golf — a contribution that further exemplifies the golf course superintendent’s image as a steward of the land.” This is the second consecutive year that the President’s Award has been awarded to a member of the CourseCo team, as in 2018 CourseCo became the first management company to win the President’s Award.
In addition to the prestigious President’s Award, Gary has been honored as the recipient of the 2019 Healthy Land Stewardship Award. The Healthy Land Stewardship Award recognizes effective strategies for efficient use of pesticides and nutrients as well as pollution prevention. This is the second consecutive year that Gary has received national recognition, as he was awarded the 2018 Communications and Outreach Award presented by the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA) and Golf Digest. The Communications and Outreach Award recognizes effective communication of conservation strategies with facility employees, golfers and other members of the community.
Gary is a long tenured CourseCo superintendent with a strong track record of environmental excellence. Gary earned the Overall National Public Award in 2014, is a former winner of CourseCo’s Superintendent of the Year award, and a recognized leader within CourseCo for environmental excellence.
Gary is one of three CourseCo superintendents receiving ELGA honors for 2019. Our award winning superintendents will be recognized Tuesday, Jan. 28, at the 2020 Golf Industry Show in Orlando. Winners will also be featured in an upcoming issue of Golf Digest and in the February 2020 issue of GCSAA’s official publication, Golf Course Management magazine.
